costume notes: I have a weird love for the designs in Darkstalkers, they are always bizarre enough to capture my attention. I chose to make a QBee costume to wear along with my friend Yaya’s Felicia outfit. I had already previously made and sold my Morrigan costume, so I did not feel up to remaking that. It was a fairly easy choice to select QBee as she appeals to me for my love of bugs, and bee butts!

I chose to make this outfit out of a metallic spandex to represent the slickness of a bug’s exoskeleton. The swirls along the bust and torso of the bodysuit are indeed seams, I did not merely stitch a stretchy applique overthe surface, but took the time to pattern out all the swirls and sew them together. It was quite a project! The wig was a special challenge in this costume for it’s bizarre shape. Does anyone else think it’s strange that she has two sets of eyes?
